Liebster Award!

liebster-award-button

I am so happy to announce that seekthebestblog has been nominated for a Liebster Award for new bloggers!  Yaaay!!!!

Friends, I cannot tell you how happy this makes us!  With that said, let me thank my ‘Cuz’ Tony Tone Vega for nominating us!

Now, I know that you noticed that I used the word ‘Cuz.’  Well let me clarify,  I started calling Tony ‘cuz’ after reading his blog.  Why?  Because, quite frankly, his ‘conversation’ sounds a lot like things that some of my own cousins would say.  So while we are not blood; we are still ‘cousins!’

So thanks again cuz! Y’all  please go check him out!  He is one funny dude!

Now let’s talk about my road dog!  My blood cousin, Ron!  What can I say?  If you have been here before then you, no doubt, have read his work.  That said, he is the truth and we share this award.

To that end, we decided that he would do a separate post to address all of the same questions that I am about to address in just about two seconds!  I already did the hard part by selecting and linking to the nominees!  Ron will thank me for that I’m sure!

So here goes!

Liebster Award Rules

1) Thank the blog who nominated you and link back to them.

2) Make a blog post telling 11 facts about you,

3) Answer the 11 questions from the blog who nominated you, and

4) Prepare 11 questions for those you will nominate.

5) Nominate 11 new bloggers (those who have less than 200 followers) by commenting in one of their blog posts.

Eleven Facts About Me

  1. I am young at heart and quite family-oriented.
  2. Although, I am a Black girl  who was raised in the South, I see myself as a global citizen.  When I was young, an older woman said that I was an indigo child—I know, go google it!
  3. I am a mother and I love and adore my children.
  4. I am an avid reader and I am a huge advocate for innovative children’s educational programs and efforts.
  5. I love music; I cannot sufficiently express how much!
  6. I love good food and drink.
  7. I like to cook and share my dishes with others.
  8. I love to laugh and I mean long, loud and often!
  9. I am a seeker of the best that life has to offer.
  10. I’ve always been spiritually aware and connected to God.
  11. I always want people to feel better about things after spending time with me.

Eleven Questions Asked of Me

Who are you? (in one sentence?)

I am that slightly off-beat girl that distracted the hell out of you in math class!

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I am an extroverted introvert!

If given a chance to be invisible, what would you do?

I need clarification, would I be able to walk through walls too?

What is happiness to you?

I am always perfectly content alone but I am most happy when I am spending time with family and friends. Nothing in the material world can touch those experiences.

Your inspiration, and why so?

I am inspired by the seen as well as the unseen.

What is your biggest achievement in life so far?

My two beautiful children!

If you could start over, what would you change?

Not a damn thang.

If given a chance to go on a date with a celebrity, who would that be?

Oprah, I’m just sayin’!

Are you happy with your life till now?

Yes, because I know that it is unfolding exactly as it should.

Your favorite song?

What? I wouldn’t know where to start?  I blog quite a bit about music so my favorite songs are EVER-Y-WHERE in my posts!

What comes first, the egg or the chicken? Explain the reason.

Which came first? I would venture to say a hen AND a rooster came first! Don’t question the LORD!  His ways are not our ways 🙂

Ok, so here are my nominees for this award.  Bare in mind that the rules require that the blog has less than 200 followers.  Well, I am not about to get into the number of followers that a blog has but I am selecting blogs I follow that I think are young like we are. God knows they might not accept but I am nominating them anyway.

Also I am doing ping-backs because it is easier.

Lol I guess so. I argue egg all the time, since the organisms that we call “chickens” are the result of evolution via years and years of mutations / natural selection… much like every other classified organism on the planet. The point at which the first anatomically modern chicken was spotted had to have been when the first chicken was conceived, since the years of mutations, mating/recombination that lead up to the first chicken’s genome, as Ron stated, start on a cellular level. Since the first chicken was a mutant (much like all offspring), its genomic difference between itself and its mother (regardless of how insignificantly small) had to have been what differentiated it from its mother, classifying it as being the very first, anatomically correct, plump, juicy, delicious looking chicken that we all love to deep fry and serve with hot sauce. *Drops mic, walks out the room*

        1. Well I just be damned! That boy know he bad! I guess all that damn money we paying for you to go to school is worth it! LOL!
Go ‘head on boy! You got your mama’s sense of humor—Fried chicken and hot sauce!
Now get your ass back in here and pick up that damn mic and when you finish wash them damn dishes!
          🙂

    1. You are welcome.

Even though the WP feed lists the number of follower a big has, you can never really know because I don’t think it counts followers outside of WP. That said, I selected blogs that looked to me like they were no more than a year old. All of those were selected from blogs that I follow-which included yours.

I based ‘blog age’ on post dates.
      Good luck!

  1. Congratulations on this award Sista – In my book you definitely deserve it. I haven’t heard of an extroverted introvert but I guess I can understand how that can be. What I do know is that there is a warm human being on the other side of the world who extended her arms to me from the get go. It’s a rare thing to find people that you can get so comfortable with so quickly.

BTW, wonder if I’m an introverted extrovert 😀 I guess what that would mean is that I’m not afraid of crowds but prefer a few intimate friends. You have a way of drawing me out from the shell. Geez – I’ve only met you a couple of weeks ago but if feels like a lifetime!

Congratulations again and keep the fire warm as you do so well. I guess I respond to Ron when we hear from him. Best. Chevvy. 💝💝💝

    1. Chevvy you are a doll!

I feel the same way about you that you feel about me. In you, I have a little angel who reminds me to keep moving toward my dreams! I adore you girl!

As for the whole extroverted introvert thing, I took this presonality test (I think it was part of the whole “What color is your parachute” phenomenon.) Not sure if you are familiar with that but a lot of folks took this test to find out what type of personality they are. Basically, once you figure that you, you can determine the best sort of careers for you.

By the way, you called it right. My personality type is good with people but prefers to be solitary. Of course, as you can imagine, this can cause some confusion for folks who don’t get that.

Anyway, thanks for your well wishes! I am grateful for so many good blogger friends!

      1. Thank you for your kind words Gwin. I’m not familiar with this test but I did take one last year for my studies and I think it just confirmed me as an extrovert. But working with so many people as I’ve done, having time out is valuable now. Enjoy the rest of your evening my dear😀

  2. Congratulations on your award!!!!! I took that test that determines what type of personality I have and I think I came back as an extroverted introvert as well. It is supposed to be a fairly uncommon personality trait, which explains a great deal.

      1. I spend my day with people, being pleasant and happy, but when I get home I have to recharge. I just have to be quiet, I don’t want to say much, or really talk to anyone the first hour or so, that I am home. I am completely happy being by myself, I find that both my boys are very much like that, they need alone time.
