And thus ended the “My Jams”series.

God bless you all for following along!  It’s been a serious blast!  But before I leave you, let me offer a very special thanks to my cousin Ron, friends-Gloria and Sandra, Diva of Soul, Miss Time Machine and all my people that followed the series from day one!  To cousin Aleshia for telling me to keep ’em coming!  To cousin Lenel for reading along; RIP to her brother, my cousin Ernest.

Also a special thanks to my fellow bloggers T. Wayne and GeoGee for promoting and advancing the series in its early infancy.

Also to my brother Tack for shouting me out!

Additional thanks to all of the other many bloggers and viewers that caught on, ‘liked,’ commented, praised and stuck with this little labor or love.

I send much love and light to my mother, Queen Diva E!  May she rest in peace!  She was the one who first introduced me to good music.  I love you mom!

And so…

Guys, whenever you create your playlists or whenever you go to YouTube to listen to one of my jams please give me a shout out in an overt way!

That would make my day 🙂

And on that note, I gotta grab my baby boy so we can move on to 1997 and continue on our long path home.

me-and-baby-boy

So long!

See you on the other side!

Always,

~G.

    1. Thank you! It’s special to me because it was my last entry in that series.

In this last post, I just listed the songs without comments and thanked all the people who followed me through the series 🙂

  3. What!! I leave for a week and My Jams is over! 😢 My Monday just got worse. Well…it was fun while it lasted Lady. Thanks for the jams and memories. Maybe someday there’ll be a flashback or something.😂

    1. I told you that it wouldn’t make it to 2000. LOL!!!! No, seriously, it was always the plan that the series would run from 66-96.
I decided not to tell the readers the end date.
Anyway, you know I’ll always talk about music somehow 🙂

First, thank you for the shout out! No way I couldn’t hype this great series. Over the course of these weekly posts, you have featured so many many great songs, and in the comments, folks added even more.

Second, it’s another great list. Seeing The Braxtons there, along with Eric Benet and all the Hip Hop jams. Awesome.

I’ll be very interested to see what else comes through on the Thursdays to come!

I’ll just drop this here (I know, not live!)

and this too: (again, I know, not live!)

Here’s to the My Jams series! Fabulous stuff, Twin!

    1. Thank you my Twin! I don’t think I could thank you enough for your support and guidance.
To be honest, I’m very interested to see what comes next too! LOL!!!!
I’m sure the theme will still be musical though.
Im typing from my notifications so I can’t see the videos yet so expect another comment in a few minutes!

        1. Yes 😞 I cried a couple of times.
But I talked to one of my besties and she said that “My Jams” is now grown up and it’s time for me to birth some more babies.
That made me feel a little better.
One of the readers, Tareau, hollered “Now enters Tareau’s top songs from 1997!”
I had to laugh. I said, “DO IT!”

        2. Kinda it is. I’m never gonna be the person to tell you why you shouldn’t do something. Shit…life’s too short. You never know where some new insight might lead.
Speaking of “DO IT” I ain’t seen no go-go lately.

    Great list as always.
Mariah Carey, Baby face, OutKast were hot on my list that year. I needed something to keep me sane, that boy child of mine sure cried a lot! 😁

What an amazing send off! Congrats on your series. Look forward to your new developments.

Always enjoy stopping by. Hugs 🌷
