A Day in the Life of the Ladies

Arise and shine!

So, today I was inspired to create a photo journal entry to show you guys what a typical day looks like for me.  Actually, this is not the first time I’ve done this.  Some of you may remember a similar post that I did a few months back called “Everyday Randomness.”

Believe it or not, that post proved to be quite popular-hence my decision to see if lightning will strike twice on the same blog!  LOL!

And so….

Here’s a typical day for Lady G:

Ok, no lies, it wasn’t really typical since my daughter, L’il Miss Lady J, was out of school for fall break.

But please rest assured knowing that Lady J and Lady G had quite the interesting day 😉

Here’s how it unfolded:

A quick stop at Fresh Market.  Lady G’s mother used to love this place; she liked all of the delightful aromas that tend to waft through the store.  Lady J and Lady G sampled the fruit infused water; they were not that impressed.

They were, however, impressed with this little seafood salad smorgasbord:)

And with this vibrant floral display

Lady G was captivated by the wine selection. Lady J was…. NOT!

Moments later, Lady J concluded that desserts were much more fascinating than wine.

After completing their tour of Fresh Market, the two ladies proceeded to take a scenic ride to the Land of Elsewhere.

Be aware that Lady G and Lady J are HUGE fans of Halloween.  That said, no September or October day trip would be complete without them taking a peek at creepy things.

The ladies also enjoyed other sensory delights!

Ahem…May I have your attention for a moment in order to share a couple of quick stories?

Thank you 😉

While shopping, Lady J and Lady G met a noblewoman who shared that she had been to Paris, France nine times!

Hmm… I sense that you are wondering what prompted this confession.

Well, it seems that she overheard the ladies talking about their dream to go to Paris someday.  Such being the case, the dear gentlewoman decided to encourage the two to keep that dream alive.

Her parting words to the ladies were, “Tell God your dreams and keep your hearts open; then you can do anything you want to.”

One thing’s for sure, magical advice seems to follow the ladies wherever they go!

Not convinced?

Farther up the road, the two ladies came upon a cashier  Duchess who wore the most glamorous makeup!  She also sported a shiny rhinestone headband with matching diamondy earrings!

Naturally, the ladies complimented this exquisite specimen on her beauty.

As one might expect, the cashier Grand Dame, who was about 70 years old, replied, “Thank you!”  But, she went on to say, “I always dress up because there was a time when I couldn’t…you know, between taking care of my sick husband and father…I find that looking good makes me feel good.”

Magical advice?

Indeed!

Shall we proceed?

Even the most proper Lady must attend to certain mundane duties 🙂

Upon arriving home, Lady G decided to retire to her ‘Magic and Creativity Chamber.’
img_2846
Ah…but then she began to feel a bit lunchy!  😉
img_2848
Nightfall!  Lady G and Lady J prepare for a sky gazing session!  It’s one of their favorite past times! To their delight, in the Southeastern sky, The Harvest Moon appeared! Sadly, LadyG did not take a picture of the moon as she has found that I-Phones are inadequate for capturing such majesty.
fullsizerender-5
Alas, the Dragon of Ragweed has decided to slay Lady G.  Notice the tired eyes and dark circles. Oh well! Time to take some Benadryl.  Good night!

Such is the magical life of the ladies!

😘💋

    1. Advice from an old head: If you are single find someone who is equally yoked with you. No needy people. Like my girlfriend and I tell our adult children: Find someone who is just as busy as you are. You don’t want anybody looking for you to be their end all, be all. Sorry for putting on the Mama cap😉

  3. True. Thank you. I was half serious. What I really meant was, People like to put a face with the words. Im sure Ive had people stop by and be impressed with the layout or content, but had no face to match it.. so, they probably kept it pushing .lol

  4. The “charlie brown” mug is dope. The fruit water was probably hella nasty. Im indifferent to wine.. I definitely agree with lady J, that the sweets are where its at.lol I like how you engage the little princess’ imagination by calling the strangers, “grand dames” and such.. Encouraging a childs imagination is a beautiful thing.

The story was funny. It reminded me of the film, ” The secret life of walter mitty”, by Ben Stiller.

    1. LOL!!! I have always done that with my children. I encouraged my son, who is now 22, to love math because I told him he was a detective tasked with solving a mystery. I told him that when he was about 5 and he ate it up.
Later homeboy blew that math SAT out the water. Not bad for a brother!
      I’m glad you stopped by.

      1. Maaan.. I wish my mom had done that with me, and my math issues.

To her credit, she made sure my reading and writing were otherworldly. lol

22 year old? you look to young to have a son that age.

Thats impressive. My math sat was average, and I slaughtered the writing and comprehension.

Thanks for the compliment about my age! I’m getting on up there but I welcome it.

Yes. As she’s getting older it’s nice to have fun outings minus the crazy tantrums. She’s still 4 so I have to watch for the danger signs when she morphs into an alien creature I must take indoors! 😁

        1. LOL!!!!!! BEEN there! At times, I wanted to melt down too. Both of us right there in the middle of the store having a freaking fit.
But once she got to be about 6 we were able to start having fun!

  5. Lady G,
I have read this a few times…simply LOVE IT. Felt like I was there with you ladies! Fresh Market is always one of our favorite haunts, too! I love all of the “magick” you encountered on your quest.
In 94, I took a trip to Paris with my mother. It was the best time we ever had together. You and Lady J must do that. November was cold, but I was there for Armistice Day and 11:11, on 11/11, everything stops for a moment to remember the day the peace treaty was signed ending WWI. It was an amazing experience.
We start with Halloween in mid-August too! Thought we were the only ones! LOL. Last year I went to Summerville cemetery and took pics of interesting headstones and monuments. I printed them in black and white and did a very cool gallery wall for Halloween. Like you, we are always on the lookout for something fun and fanciful for the spooktacular season!

I agree with your cousin about the pic. Ragweed is a bitch, but you still look beautiful despite its attack. Please share more of these stories with us! LOVED it!

    1. Tessa girl! You needed to have been with us and I can assure you that we would have had a ball. And yes, I am convinced that Lady J and I will, indeed, get to Paris.
IRL, The Lady that we talked to shared that she was from West Virginia; born to a coal miner. Girl she was a live version of Ms. Loretta Lynn. Anyway, she said Paris was always one of her dream destinations. She also said, “Life took me there.” Turns out her daughter married a military man and they were stationed first in Germany and then in France. She also shared that Paris ‘speaks’ to her. She said, one night while she was there, she walked down a street lined with chestnut trees when, all of a sudden, it started to snow! How magickal is that? Tessa girl, I don’t know what it is but whenever I am out people will walk right up to me and start talking. I enjoy it!
By the way, I see that you made the proper distinction in spelling magick. I purposely didn’t spell it that way because I didn’t want to offend anyone but it is magick none the less!
Your cemetery idea sounds like so much fun. You are so fun loving! I love people like that 🙂
As for Halloween….YAAAASSSSSSS! We will be trick or treating and then topping the evening off with our usual Halloween Special DVDs! I can’t wait 🙂
Oh and thanks for the compliment about that picture; all I could depend on was ‘inner beauty’ ROTFLMAO!!!!!

        2. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME! NEVER! I actually put in this VERY post a secret code regarding the sky gazing. I was hoping that you would catch it.
          You are my heart Chevvy!
You should see the messages that fly back and forth between me and Tracy about missing you.
Chevvy, if you you’ll just stop by here sometimes I’ll be sooooo happy.
I just wanna know that you are around. By the way, thanks for the video! I love it and you know I love you Sis!

        3. Oh I got the message alright and I’m right there with you even in spirit. Stay sweet girl. That was a lovely post – Simple abundance in celebrating the things we take for granted. Btw, I can visualise those dames in the shop – I’ve seen them in our Post Offices – high perms, purple rinses, lots of jewelry dreaming of that fantastical life that they may have missed. Babe – we must not wait until then. Spring or Autumn – I loved Paris – keep the dream Baby and it will happen!! Glad to discover that I can still comment. If I brought a smile to you face, I’m glad Sweetheart. Now you have mail to attend to.❤️

    Hi to you Gwin!
    Lovely picture diary!
That was a nice day out! I felt I was walking along with you two. Classy Magic and Creativity Chamber (Too comfy for me though. That would be my Deep and Profound Thought (aka- Snooze) Chair).
Soaps! Ah! My darling wife loves soaps! She’d been there for ages checking those out.

And my effervescent elder daughter with her One hundred and One stories and as many questions!
(I would of course walk behind, carrying bags- as befits my station…and slipping off to check the comic stores 😆)

  7. Lovely to read about you and your dear little one. There is great wonderment in the simplicity of a single day. Enjoyed it ALL. 🌹 As for your mention of moon shots on an iPhone. I, too, suffer from this affliction on my Samsung. Grandmother Moon comes out looking like an LED light hanging on a wire. No YAAASSSSS on that. 😉

    1. ROTFLMAO!!!
I know right? I simply cannot do such an injustice to The Harvest Moon! Seriously! I love that analogy of the LED light hanging on a wire!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!
      I just can’t.
Thanks so much for reading about our day 🌷
