Alternate title: Intuition–Get into it!
“Mama Told Me Not To Come” by Three Dog Night (Released 1970)
Sonically strange but catchy as hell!
That’s all that comes to mind whenever I think of this jam.
Best believe, it effectively evokes states of hazy, crazy, confusion and discombobulation.
The end results of not listening to Mama.
Now, I’ll give you the fact that Mama can’t go everywhere with you–Hell, my own Mama is happily skip-dancin’ in magical heavenly realms.
Therefore, it is so important that we all learn to cultivate our own inner knowing- our own “inner Mama.”
Intuition–Get into it!
YAAASSS 🙂
And so…
Today’s Affirmation: I trust and follow my intuition.
Intuition is your direct connection with The Divine.
A gift from God.
Take heed!
Your inner “Mama” ain’t never gon’ stir you wrong 😉

I’d love to hear about it!

Hey Girl! TGIF! Back in the land of the living…shew! This work week had me “some type a way”….but here I am catching up on your blog & shit LOL I didn’t listen to my intuition in 1995. It was storming…there I was in my wedding dress walking towards my Dad to link arms and walk down that aisle to marry him. My gut said “Run! Don’t do it!” I even cried and told Dad I didn’t feel right but he said it was the right thing. So I went down that aisle and cried saying my vows. Five years later I had all I could take. It was over. I learned to trust that intuition, gut feeling, it is usually spot on!

TGIF girl! Or should I say TGIS because it is now Saturday.
You know, it is amazing how accurate our intuition is. Your inner knowing knew that it was not going to go well if you married this person. In your case, you went against your intuition in order to align with the wishes of your Father and your Ex.
You were young so you still had a bit of growing to do before you could become the woman that you are today 🙂
Something tells me that Ms. Lennon listens to and follows her intuition nowadays!
So glad you came by love!

Lady G, I remember loving this song when I was in first grade along with Joy to the World. Did you know Randy Newman wrote it? Thanks for another magical musical memory!

LOL!!
Yes, I knew about the fact that Randy Newman wrote it and after I learned that and re-listened to the songI could see where that would be the case.
But that said, I actually heard Randy’s version of it on Youtube several years ago. It doesn’t sound like TDN’s version much at all 🙂 They had a their own unique vocal styling for this jam.
And yes, like you, my friends and I love to sing “Joy to the World!”
Talk about good times? Those were some good times 🙂

They were! They were also much simpler. The TDN song brought them back for awhile!

I always, always, always listen to my inner voice/divine intervention! When I don’t, it results in big trouble!! True story: My sister was going out on a date, and I absolutely freaked out on her and said she couldn’t get in the car with that guy because I had such a bad feeling. She heeded my warning and they didn’t leave to go out until I “felt” it was okay. The feeling passed after about an hour, but that was one strong feeling, I’ll never forget it, and that was 30 years ago.

I so get that!!! I have no doubt that something tragic might have happened if she had decided to ignore you.
So glad she listened.
There are lots of stories of people who, for whatever reason changed, delayed or switched flights on 911 and lived to tell the story.
I think there’s something to it.
Have you heard of this :

No, I’d never heard of it before. That’s fascinating! What should be is not always what it is. Mind boggling really. And I’ve read some of those 9/11 stories. Red flags and doubts pop up for a reason, and I feel blessed I’m in tune with them. Either that or I have one heck of a guardian angel!! 😀

Oh Three Dog Night! I did like them Both those songs were so very catchy. Apparently one of the singers broke his arm before a gig and yet still turned up. Arm in plaster- what a trouper!!
“Mama Told Me Not To Come” always struck a chord, that you’d turned up at really the wrong party (There was a cut-price outfit put together by two professional hacks….sorry singer-songwriters who did a version where one of them would squeak after the line ‘That’s not the way to have fun’…’Oh yes it is!’…..Oh my it was irritating-that’s the polite version of my opinion).
Intuition Gwin?
Not too sure if I did, but I’m still here and sort of sane, so must have at some stage !
