Please enjoy this ode to New Orleans-one of my favorite cities 💞
Expect a new entry from “The Flowering Vine” later today.
Love and light to you all!
Lady G 😘💋
Tennessee Williams said it, I didn’t! However, I will say, after having been to New Orleans several times, Mr. Williams was definitely on to something! No shade to Cleveland. Really, I have family there. Hell, I’ve even partied there; the Flats were swinging! But with that said, New Orleans has a special quality that is very hard to express in words. To me, it is a place that you just have to experience. Once you do, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
As I’ve said, I have been to New Orleans multiple times. My most recent trip was in 2013. As soon as I arrived, I remember experiencing a distinct feeling of contented familiarity that had nothing to do with the fact that I had been there before. I mean, it wasn’t because the food was so freaking good or because the people were so friendly; although both of those…

New Orleans is my absolute favorite American city! I always tell people that it sounds crazy, but you have to get some Popeye’s while you’re there. It is totally different there.

I have been to Louisiana but never down NOLA way. Someday I will make it there. I envy you, Lady G. Next time you are there, listen to some jazz, have a few cocktails and beignets for me!

Yeah you right chere! (As some say in NOLA)
Je parle…comment dit on …un petit peu…. de francais–
No doubt I screwed that up royally but I think you get my meaning 🙂
I can’t be bothered to use google to translate it correctly LOL!!!
It’s been more than 20 years since I had a class.
BTW, be sure to ask T. Wayne about all of the things that Lady G cannot be bothered to do…he is keeping an ever growing list 🙂
Seriously, I’m much better at reading it than speaking it 🙂
Always a pleasure Susan!

C’est vrai, mon amie! I am sure our lists of things we can’t be bothered to do could be archived in Washington. I have quite a few of them as well. Always a pleasure, Lady G!

I went on a weekend trip in 2015. I really enjoyed myself. It has a vibe about it that I love. It was my first time being there since a family reunion when I was like 7.

NOLA is such a fun city. What’s not to love about jazz, historical architecture, beignets, and rice n’ beans 🙂 You’re right about the atmosphere. The minute you step on Decatur street you’re welcomed in.

I’ve never been. I’ve been wanting to go, especially for Mardi Gras. Lol. I was younger when I wanted to go. It gets too crazy so maybe some other time of the year…not when it’s too hot and humid either.

I’ve always been in Spring or late Summer.
Just keep in mind that there is so much more there than The French Quarter.
I think you’d love it✨
