Perspective

One day a friend and I were gazing from a large picture window.

I commented, “Wow…look at that beautiful scenery…It’s breathtaking!”

My friend replied, “What scenery?”

That’s just a bunch of trees!”

I didn’t respond.

Perspective…

  1. I did a HAIKU on this word recently, mine being to search for the light. I suppose if you’re searching for light, you’ll always see the beauty. At the moment though, I also put context next to perspective which informs what shade of perspective you take. 😀

    1. Maybe that’s why that word came to me! LOL!!! I must have subliminally remembered that word from your post.
This event happened some 20 years ago and the word ‘Perspective’ seemed so apropos!

      1. I have to tell you that I must have changed my perspective 100 times this week Lol. It’s just been the toughest time ever that I can’t seem to focus let alone see the light. I saw your post on Faith. I’ll have to mull on that for a while – test it a little this week and get back to you.😀

A case of not seeing the forest for the trees…anyway great post. It’s something we all can use from time to time. Some people look at the big picture and can see a different perspective than those who can see only what is right in front of them.

    Thanks for sharing, Twin!

That’s funny! LOL, I’m a artist I see the world as art. People send pictures of them to me and they laugh at my response because I’m all in the background asking about the background scenery or the furniture that they’re sitting on. The pictures on the wall I can’t help it.

        1. Aww thanks my sweet. I was just looking at a meal that your dear son cooked for you (on instagram.)
You clearly have done a magnificent job raising a man who is sweet enough to cook like that for his mom.
My son is about to turn 23 and finishing college in May. I had that joker cooking full course meals by time he was 12. I said, “You’re going to learn how to cook whatever you like to eat…I refuse to see you marry somebody just because they can cook and you can’t!”
          LOL!!!!
          Mothers….
Anyway, I just recently met another beautiful mother of two strong young black men—much like yourself.
          I’m digging that.
Love and light to you 💞🙏🏾

Yes he lovesss to cook and when I go to the grocery store with him and my daughter they have all my grocery list in their basket and then they add the foods that they like, the meals that they have created so I can taste their cooking. That was New Year’s and he’s so laugh Intuit I was so ready to eat and he was still preparing potato salad and green salad and cutting up vegetables for his homemade veggie dips I was so ready to eat and he was trying to entertain me and his girlfriend.

    1. Thank you my friend! Very nice to meet you. I enjoyed your piece “Live and Let Live” but, for some reason, it would not allow me to “like” it 😦
I’ll certainly be back over 🙂

Oh, thanks a lot, Lady G, I appreciate your friendship. I will be frequenting your blog too and tag you in my new posts.
I also experienced frequent technical problems with my blog, don’t know why!
        Thank you so much.

  4. I love moments like that when you stop and really look up, at trees, the sunset rippling in the sky, or the stars during a clear night. It makes you wonder what else you’re missing when you rush through the day.

  5. Woebegone but Hopeful

Perceptive Gwin and a little sad too.
Much to my wife’s dismay (but she is very patient and understanding about it, our little back garden is a rather ragged wasteland on account of 8 trees (most of which I couldn’t identify)….but I have cut them back…a bit.
    Lovely picture too.

    1. Me too! LOL!!!!
The closest I’ve ever got to a tree house was a ‘tree bench’ that my Daddy built for me! LOL!
Have you ever seen that TV show “Extreme Treehouses?” Those things are awesome!
