Real Good Food: “Melted Mozzarella Clumps…”

Stuffed Green Peppers topped with Mozzarella Cheese

Right after I posted this picture on Instagram, my brother, Tack, commented, “Looks like melted mozzarella clumps on top of whatever is underneath, LOL!”

Like that’s a bad thing.

I say bring on the cheese-albeit with a touch of hesitancy.

You see, milk products don’t seem to like me very much anymore.

But I’m taking my time with the break-up 😔

As for the stuffed green peppers, or “bell peppers” as we call them down South, I simply browned up some ground beef, added tomato sauce, seasonings, a smidgen of sugar then double-crammed that beefy goodness into four verdant par-boiled vegetable containers.

As you can see, I topped each pepper with a rather thin slice of mozzarella (I added a bit of grated parmesan prior to that).

So there little bro!

Clumps of mozzarella?

The nerve of that dude!

Anyway, here is a before and after:

Oh yeah, I had two extra slices of “mozz” so it turns out that I used 6 slices but who are you to judge me?

Whatevs!

This little “Fun with Mozzarella” endeavor started with the crab stuffed mushrooms from last week, and continued on with the peppers before concluding with the Portabella Mushroom Pizzas pictured below.

Ah…but all cheesy things must eventually come to an end so I decided to go to an old standby–Baked Chicken Florentine.

YAAASSS!

This sistah ain’t NEVER been to Florence, or any other part of Italy for that matter, but that didn’t stop me from piling spinach on top of some chicken and calling it Florentine!

LOL!

Florence, Georgia!  Wherever that is!

Much respect and love to my Italian followers 💋

😎

Behold

What do you think about the peppers and pizza?  Too much cheese?  No pun intended! LOL!

Much love and light to you all

  1. Chef Gwin, use garlic instead of sugar…it sweetens. Just a Michelle tip. Try it and let me know how you like it. My son’s fiancée cooked spaghetti dinner one night and told me later after I consumed and praised that she added sugar…I was horrified. Full but horrified. (I use to add it to string beans.) 😄 #notahealthnutbuthealthyeatingisbetter

    1. ROTFLMAO!
I love that tip Michelle! I must tell you, my dear Mama would have been horrified to know that I added a bit of sugar to anything savory. That sister was not here for adding sugar to anything unless it was a desert! LOL!!!

      1. Good! I was praying I did not offend. Sugar is not our friend…except in chocolate, ice cream and that once a year lemon-filled doughnut. I forgot walnut brownies. You get what I’m saying…#sisterlovedesserts I just don’t add it to anything. 🙂 Love Mama!!

You sho don’t have to leave GA to travel the world: Athens, Florence, Cairo, Albany, Berlin, Damascus, Dublin, Ephesus, Geneva, Helena, Kingston, Rome, Sardis, and Vienna, to name a few.

I’m planning on taking a tour around the “world” soon, weather permitting.

I don’t know Doc. And the funny thing is, half of them are not pronounced the same as their overseas cousins. For instance, Cairo is pronounced ‘Kay-ro. 😂😂😂😂

    1. LOL!
You’ve been threatening to come see me for over a year. What am I supposed to do with all these plates I’ve been saving for you? LOL!
No matter, I will still save you a plate of anything I have.
You are my cousin and I love you dude.
Just let me get over these allergy issues and I’ll cook up a good ol’ mess of sumthin!

The royal courts played for keeps in those days. Martin based ‘Game of Thrones’ on medieval Europe. Most of our political class wouldn’t have lasted.
There were some pretty impressive Eleanors too.
Take your pick Gwin, there were some brave women in those days.😃

    1. He is a stone cold nut! LOL! And thanks for the compliment and advice!
I shy away from instructions because I don’t measure things. I just season to taste and sometimes I adjust temps and times as needed so it’s hard to get any uniformity for writing a recipe.

  3. Lady G, I divorced cheese a while ago. Cheese was not good for me, playing havoc at every opportunity. We’re still good friends though and your pictures filled me with longing …:)))*
