Fae: An Ode to the Generous

If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

–1 John 4:20

Just behind this door resides a noble little fae

Who has an open heart of gold for those who’ve lost their way.

She gathers all her eensy friends;

They know just what to do.

They share their food,

They offer care,

They teach eternal truth,

No questions asked;

No judgments made;

No hoarding of “the loot.”

They know that one can’t pull a strap unless he has a boot.

-Lady G

A simple rhyme from LadyG’s imagination!

Anyway…

Lately, I find myself so disheartened by current events; especially in the U.S.

Seriously! I often wonder if people realize that our children are looking on as adults act like violent and malicious spoiled brats who are singularly focused on what is best for them and theirs.

Everything is…

MINE!

ME!

THEM!  They are the problem!

What about US?

What’s our role?

What are we teaching our babies when we behave this way?

What are we teaching ourselves…The world?

We can do better!

Question, do all of the God-fearing folks really believe in and have reverence for God?

Simply put, you can’t love God in heaven while stepping all over your brother on Earth.

I’ve had enough!

And so…

I’ve created my own alternate world where love, kindness and generousity reign.

I’ve done it before.

Does anybody want to join me?  Plan to pray and meditate 🙂

Love and light to you all 💋

    1. Thank you so much my sweet!
You know I actually seriously hesitate to call it a poem because of its simplicity.
      I’d call it a rhyme 🙂
Anyway, I was thinking that politics has become so complicated when it really should be as simple as each person being a good citizen who is helpful, caring, and concerned for others.
I don’t understand what’s so hard about that.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you. I’ve been checking your site waiting for our newest gem—don’t make us wait too long💞

      1. Yes Lady G – life could be so simple, but we humans are a complex bunch! It seems as if some of us have not got past the tantrum stage – still throwing our toys out of the pram and everything centres around ‘me’. I wonder if this is just how it has to be here on Earth? (Rhetorical question!!) Maybe here (Earth) we come to learn important lessons about living together in peace and harmony, and some of us learn the ‘lesson’ and move on. Others just don’t or will never ‘get it’. You clearly have learned it and in your own way, through your simplistic yet powerful ‘rhyme’ are trying to spread the message.
Thank you for checking my site – my mind’s a blank at the moment, but hopefully I’ll be inspired soon!:)
        I say Lady G for President!💞 :))

        1. Sorry for the delay M’Lady. This has been a busy week. I think that you are right here and I do believe that we have these lessons to learn but some of us will not get it–at least not in this present moment.
And yes, I know that poets require space for creativity so in due time you will bless us with a good one!

  1. What a beautiful, heartfelt post! I join you in your world of love, kindness and generosity, for the hate, cruelty and stinginess have worn me down. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts, and thank Roger, once again, for bringing me to your wonderful world!

    1. AWWWW! Thank you Jill!
      Good to see you 🙂
The whole thing really does begin to wear you down.
To be honest, I think that’s exactly what they want to happen.
But one thing that I know for sure…This too shall pass; so even the craziest mess can’t last always 💞

      1. Good to see you also! I always enjoy your posts … just been WAY behind lately and don’t get to half the things I would like to!

Yes, it wears one down to the bone … makes us grumpy, weepy, and takes a toll on our physical well-being as well. I know it will pass … I have confidence that this will one day only be a blurb in the history books, but I am convinced it will not pass in my lifetime and on my deathbed I will be saying … “impeach {cough} Trump {cough} please …”

  2. Count me in too, G!!!
I’m so fed up too with “MINE” – just the other day I had an exchange of tweets, wherein someone said they wished all nations would become peaceful (or something like that), and I said I couldn’t see it happening anytime soon, as most nations were like kids at opposite ends of a sandbox… they learn “MINE!” verrrry early. 😦
So I want some of your love and light, it’s gotta be way better than this! ❤

    1. I know, right? And what are we arguing about? Why is it so bad to want to offer healthcare, feed the hungry, educate the children, respect the planet?
      Geez, I could go on.
People (And our dear animal friends) should always come before money.
      Whew!!!!
It’s always a pleasure to see you my friend!
Is the book keeping you busy? Please feel free to leave the name of your masterpiece here in comments for others to see 🙂

  3. Woebegone but Hopeful

    Oh my Gwin!
That was a powerful verse with a beautiful picture.
I’m with you for the World where Hate is expunged and the those who hate cannot enter.
This resonates so much because this is the reading I encountered at Mass on Sunday
    Book of Ecclesiasticus:27:30-28:7- extract
‘Resentment and anger, these are foul things, and both are found with the sinner…’
Lead us on Gwin, lead us on.

    1. A thousand thanks Roger! I am so glad that you enjoyed this one! Oh and I love the scripture that you point to from the Mass—it is absolutely apropos!
It’s amazing how we love to point out sin in every little thing –but we fail to realize that we sin (or miss the mark) when we engage in anger and resentment.
Very myopic if you ask me 🙂
And Roger, I so appreciate your support and I thank you for reblogging this post 🙂

  4. I’m with you, Lady G. We can do better. If we stay on this path, our children will carry on the legacy of ME, MY and MINE.
But on a well-lit path, we can change it. One person. One interaction. One lovely rhyme. One post at a time.
And can I come up there an walk with you? What a perfectly beautiful photo taken by a perfectly beautiful soul❤️

    1. Look at my baby girl! Hey darling! Glad to see you! And you know you can walk with me anytime! BTW, your response is just as inspiring as the rhyme!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are a lovely soul too 💖

  5. Same sentiments here on my side of the country. So many things are happening, so many problems being faced, but unless one changes from within, nothing everlasting will happen. 🙂 Love the shot and poem. 🙂
