Rambling Musical Commentary: You’ve Only To Ask Me There’s Nothing I Wouldn’t Do

By the prickling of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.

William Shakespeare’s MacBeth

Oh yes! LadyG’s Rambling Musical Commentary has returned with the year 1980.

Join me as I remember my favorite jams from a year that brought some fond memories along with a very bitter pill to swallow.

  1. Oh my….Smooth, smooth Lady G of Mathilda. You have the heart and the soul of a DJ, that was a classy selection and more importantly the voice over was a treat indeed.
(I won’t spoil the reply with my opinions on (very bad word) racists- your daughter might read this…On the topic I can go Gunnery Sergeant- Full Metal Jacket…)

    1. Awww thanks Roger! The man who owned the store was actually named Mr. James. I don’t know why I decided back then to change his name to “Johnny” but he was really nice to us during a time when he didn’t have to be. It just goes to show that there have always been White people who didn’t go along with that racism nonsense.
I give credit to all of the white folks in the South, like Mr. James from my day, and all the ones present and past who put their necks on the line for us when they could have just watched and kept quiet–it sure would have been a helluva lot easier for them to do that.
I salute them and I salute YOU, my friend.
