My name is Lady G, and I’d like to welcome you to Seek The Best Blog!
I am a seeker of the best that life has to offer.
Here, you will find posts about any person, place, thing or concept that I believe will edify, enchant, intrigue, inform, educate, tickle or delight other kindred spirits like me.
By the way, I am a huge music fan so if you are into Soul/R&B, you’ve come to the right place. Just navigate to categories and select “My Jams.”
There you’ll find my favorite jams for years 1966-1996
Foodies, I haven’t forgotten about you! Lady G admits to being something of a gourmand so I LOVE to cook and eat!
I’m a fan of both ‘highbrow’ and ‘lowbrow dining.’ That said, be sure to check out my dining experiences and culinary creations in the “Food, Dining and Entertainment” or “Real Good Food”categories.
Oh and just in case you’re wondering…Wine, cocktails and ale?
Hell yeah!
I talk about that too!
Now, before I proceed any further, let me introduce you to my first cousin (my daddy’s sister’s oldest boy) and ‘partner in crime,’ Ron Brown. Ron, aka ‘The Professor,’ is an extremely witty and prolific writer. If you’ve never read any of his writings prepare yourself for a real treat.
You can find Ron’s writings under the categories labeled “Ron’s Time Tunnel” and “The Flowering Vine.” If you need more Ron in your life, visit him at The Time Tunnel
Oh yeah, my Dad, will also be contributing some of his many musings.
You can find Daddy’s stories under the category “True Railroad Stories.”
Please note that while I do plan to emphasize the more positive aspects of life, I reserve the right to go off on the occasional rant and by occasional, I mean weekly via our A Family Conversation audio series.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by Seek The Best Blog!
Be sure to comment and follow.
***You are welcome to share posts; just make sure to attach proper credit.
Come back anytime!
Love, LadyG

Okay, *first* of all, I adore your lovely list of verbs (edify, enchant, intrigue, etc.). I see that not only are you a food lover like me, you’re also a word lover. Come to think of it, that’s probably not so odd considering we both have blogs. 🙂
Now, Lady G. – may I call you “G” for short? – As a “huge music fan” you sure would’ve loved the documentary I watched last night. (I recorded it recently on my PVR.) In fact, maybe you’ve seen it – “Mavis” – about Mavis Staples. Was sooooooo good. I never knew before that Bob Dylan once proposed to her, back in the very early 60s! Love her voice and Mavis seems like such a good ‘n’ cool person!
Ron’s “Time Tunnel” sounds ingtriguing. But why would I wanna step on him? I wouldn’t do that! No no never! 🙂 Off I go to take a look at a couple of your posts (more tomorrow and the next day and the next)!
BTW are you in Atlanta or elsewhere? TTYL!

So glad you dropped by! And of course you may call me G.
Thank you for observing my love of words!
And…….YAAASSSSS! I’ve seen parts of that documentary on Mavis Staples! Based on what you’ve said, I’ve got to go back and watch the whole thing!
I had no clue that Bob Dylan proposed to her.
Why does that make me want to laugh out loud? LOL!!!
By the way, the phrase “step to” is a Southern colloquialism that means engaging someone in a confrontational manner. LOL!!
So I advise readers not to “step to” Ron. He’s been known to rip trolls up in comments. Otherwise, he’s very nice and he’s an AWESOME writer.
Anyway, it’s so nice to meet you and you’ll be seeing me on your blog.
Until then, good night😘

Rain is good especially in spring. We’re approaching Winter so it’s dark outside. Just got back from a career exhibition with my youngest daughter (14) and out of curiosity were just enquiring about courses in the UK and US – 30 000 dollars per year – we were told for the US. With our currency, can’t see that happening. Even at our own universities cost of education is becoming prohibitive. Anyway. that’s my rant for the day.:-)

You’ll see this in the morning…
I totally get what you mean! My son is attending a costly University as we speak. But you’d be surprise to know that a lot of expensive schools have nice endowments that help to pay for talented kids. It’s worth checking into the scholarships and grants that are available. If my son had not gotten grants and stuff there’s no way he could have gone.

Well, I’m at that point where these issues become important. We already pay a fortune for good education. My older daughter is doing her second year at university. I have a feeling that they’ll both want to go abroad after their studies. 🙂
