I Went Home Today!

Ok, so I didn’t go home today.

I actually went home yesterday, but somehow “I went home yesterday,” as a title, didn’t quite have the same ring to it.

LOL!

And so…

Yesterday, I went to my hometown of Augusta, GA.

Yep! Home of The Godfather of Soul…James Brown.

Not to mention the Master’s Golf Tournament.

And yours truly, LadyG.

Anyway, the purpose of my visit was to see one of my best friends and sister, Gloria and her son Zoser.

Together, Gloria and I are the Ladies G!

LOL!!

At any rate, Gloria and Zoser, who happens to be on his way to bonafide celebrity-dom due to his burgeoning singing career, flew home from Seattle to Augusta for the holidays.

Naturally, I could not allow them to fly back into the Northwestern sunset without us getting together.

So…

Me, Lady J and Rod rolled over to Augusta for the day and had a BALL!

I’m sure if you asked those two they’d tell you how “interesting” it was to hear their mom chatter on and on about her old Homecoming Queen highschool glory days:

“Mama was the Homecoming queen and a Varsity Cheerleader for 4 years…and….”

“We know, Mom…you were blah, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada…”

They had heard it all before!

—No less than 10 zillion times.

Sorry friends, I have truly digressed!

Never mind that, please enjoy the following pictures from a hometown visit with some of my favorite people.

Love and Light, Lady G 😘💋💋

Real Good Food: Of Crab and Carbs

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

So based on your advice, I decided to start cutting back on carbs.

In the interim, I will put on my stretch pants, walk and modify the remaining macronutrient proportions by cooking meals that are high in protein and moderately low in fat.

Oops…I almost forgot the water…I’ll be drinking lots and lots of water…(loaded with Crystal Light)

🙂

We’ll see what happens in due season.

Thanks for all of your advice guys!

Until we meet again, I bid you a Happy Wednesday!

Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram…just click the Instagram icon there on the right panel of this page…I’m not locked! LOL!

Here’s a video of my alter-alter ego, Big Thickem, having a bite of this crab situation!

YAAASSS!

AND…

My girl Sandra shared this picture of her specialty: Crab Fried Rice!

Dreams Made Manifest

Glo and Terry McMillan
Gloria with author Terry McMillan at a book signing in Seattle

They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.  -Edgar Allan Poe

Dream, dream, dream!  Never underestimate the power of your dreams! Dreams can take you to places that are elusive to your rational mind.

How do I know?  Because I have made many dreams come true. In my mind, there is no way for you to attain an ideal life without first traveling through your dreams and imagination.  Please trust and believe that God gifted you with these abilities for a reason.

As you might have guessed, I like to surround myself with folks who are, in this way, like-minded.

With that said, I give you one of my oldest and dearest friends Gloria.  Gloria is a dreamer!  Sometimes she dreams alone and sometimes we dream together, and, as a result, she recently acquired her dream job in her dream city and she is now living her dream life.

Notice how I keep repeating the word ‘dream’?  It’s intentional 🙂

Friends, do understand that preparation is of the utmost importance.  But remember, once you are sufficiently prepared, you must allow yourself to indulge your imagination.  If you do this, you will experience a lovely life that unfolds with ease and grace.

And now, I leave you with the following quote:

People who lean on logic and philosophy and rational exposition end by starving the best part of the mind.  -William Butler Yeats

My friends, let us commence!
