IMG_1952

Hi Guys!

I hate I missed you on Thanksgiving, but I pray that all went well, and you are blessed and content! 💋

Please feel free to drop by comments to let me know how you are doing.  I really do look forward to that.

And so…I thought about it and decided that it was about time I did a good emptying of the old iphone.

I hope you don’t mind 🙂

Hell, it don’t really matter cuz imma do it anyway! LOL!!!

Anywhats, here are some shots from this past week.

Warning…if you are dieting, there is some food porn…but there are also some meal options to get you back on the healthy side of things.

You can thank my dear son for that.

As an aside, I did enjoy a candlelit meal with someone special which consisted of  Dover Sole with Fingerling Potatoes and Haricot Verts…

or…Green beans for us country folk!

LOL!

There was also a glass of Prosecco and dessert involved.

Oooh chile! Let me hush….sorry…no pictures! LOL!

With that…Let’s go!

Real Good Food: The Way to a Man’s Heart?

Beef short Ribs
Braised Short Ribs with Yellow Rice, French Cut Green Beans and Sliced Tomatoes

The trademark orange bowl!

LadyG is cooking again!

YAAASSSS!

Anyway…

Today, let us consider the old adage:

“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

Hmm….

Well… I don’t know if it’s true in every case, but it sure did work for me and Mama.

Just kidding!

But not really…

No, seriously folks, while the quote points to the way to a man’s heart, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee arrival–not to mention–a permanent stay.

Am I rambling?

Probably.

Maybe this whole thing is a non-issue…

An old wives tale…

Low level philosophical nonsense!

Pseudo-intellectual fodder…

But…maybe there’s some truth to it…

Or…maybe not.

Alas…

The debate continues 🙂

Have a wonderful week my friends!

Love and light to you all!

LadyG😘

Real Good Food: Sunday Comfort!

July 2 Dinner
Homemade Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes/gravy, English Peas and Vegetable medley

Yep! Lady G’s been up since 7:00am EST!

Cooking in the kitchen!

Oh yeah, Daddy is here to help Lady J and I with the garden project that I blogged about last week!

Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are his favorite…sooo…

Voilà!

But ya know what?

It’s raining cats and dogs here in Georgia and Lady J says it’s not supposed to stop until next Sunday!

Curses!

That’s not what I wanted to hear!

Let’s just pray that she’s giving me 11-year-old hyperbole!

LOL!

Stay tuned!

By the way, here’s a picture of Daddy during his days in the United States Air Force-circa 1965.

Daddy US AirForce

Daddy spent a whole bunch of time in Germany!

Hence the word “Germany” tacked up on his Military Police Beret.

If you’ve been following this blog, you probably already know that I’ve always wanted to go there.

My son says that when I’m about 90 years old he plans to sit me on his future back-porch, point to a bunch of trees and say, “Hey mama! Look at all that Germany back there! ”

He swears I won’t know the difference! LOL!!

Kids!

Anywhats….Have a great week my friends.  I promise to keep you posted about the garden:)

Love and light to you!

LadyG

PS:  Ron Brown! I’m saving yet another plate for you Cuz! 💞

Real Good Food: BREAKFAST!

omelet4

It’s what’s for dinner!

Yep!

Sometimes dinner needs to be super simple.

And there’s nothing more simple than a couple of eggs, slices of bacon and some toast.

Of course, if you live in one of the Southern states like I do then grits are a must.

If you have never heard of grits, all I can tell you is they come from God’s magical corn machine.

Other than that, I got nothing.

Anyway, today, I am featuring a basic, run of the ‘meal’ omelet.

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that the one I made here  is not really that amazing but BAYBEE there are people who can turn omelets into masterpieces.

I’m serious!

I can’t tell you how many crawfish, cheese and green onion omelets I ate whilst I was in The Big Easy.

There are also some awesome makers of great omelets happening up in St. Louis too!

YAAASSSS!

Sadly, my omelet eating days are pretty much over.

I have found that egg and milk products don’t really like me very much 😦

Lady J, however, has no problem with them so the omelet pictured above was her breakfast.

Now…

Before I go, let me step back to grits.

Grits give me LIFE!

They are a fine canvas for all kinds of merriment!

My granddaddy taught me that!

You see, to him, everything was just a base for his favorite additions like sliced tomatoes and peppers.

But that had more to do with his giving nature than anything else.

Friends, this might not make much sense to you now, don’t worry, Ron or I will elaborate one day on The Flowering Vine.

Until then…

Enjoy watching this omelet mature before your very eyes!

Oh yeah, notice the fact that it looks like a frowning yellow crescent moon!

LOL!!!

I guess I would be frowning too if it were me!

Have a blessed day, sweets!

LadyG 😘💋
