We met in starry Winter.

Spring-Summer

Had a ball!

The chime rings twelve,

Her time had come to

Leave me in the Fall.

-Lady G For Mama💞 RIP

I really wish you guys could have ‘met’ my Mom!

She was truly something else!

By the way, down South, we often describe certain people as being “something else” when we can’t quite find the best words to describe them.

Mind you, this could be either good or bad 🙂

In Mama’s case it was a good thing!

And so…

Here, in the Northern Hemisphere, we celebrate the first day of fall!

It’s my favorite time of year!

Last year, I decided to greet the Autumnal Equinox with this popular post!

Feel free to check it out!

Meanwhile, I will leave you to celebrate our dear season with the following musical goodies!

The first song was one of Mama’s favorites by Marvin Gaye.  We’d sing it together while dancing and having a ball!

The second song is….What can I say? Apropos!

Love and light to you all!

Some Place

Sky and trees

There must be always remaining in every life, some place for the singing of angels, some place for that which in itself is breathless and beautiful.

Blessings and Butterflies

Butterfly FullSize

Whenever I have time, I like to spend cool mornings outside admiring nature; especially during late summer and fall.

I don’t know, I guess it’s one of the ways in which I count my blessings.

Mornings spent in nature provide the best proof of The Divine!

Ah…but the fireflies in the evening are a sight to see!  My Dad told a beautiful story about seeing a magical night-time firefly show while working as a conductor on the railroad.

You can find that lovely piece right here.

But…Lady G….you digress!

Indeed, I have.

Excuse me my loves.

Anyway, this morning a couple of butterflies decided to put on a show of shows!

I almost tripped myself trying to grab my i-phone to capture this glorious display of groovyness! LOL!!!

Here are some of the shots that I was able to grab.

Enjoy!

Real Good Food: The Way to a Man’s Heart?

Beef short Ribs
Braised Short Ribs with Yellow Rice, French Cut Green Beans and Sliced Tomatoes

The trademark orange bowl!

LadyG is cooking again!

YAAASSSS!

Anyway…

Today, let us consider the old adage:

“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

Hmm….

Well… I don’t know if it’s true in every case, but it sure did work for me and Mama.

Just kidding!

But not really…

No, seriously folks, while the quote points to the way to a man’s heart, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee arrival–not to mention–a permanent stay.

Am I rambling?

Probably.

Maybe this whole thing is a non-issue…

An old wives tale…

Low level philosophical nonsense!

Pseudo-intellectual fodder…

But…maybe there’s some truth to it…

Or…maybe not.

Alas…

The debate continues 🙂

Have a wonderful week my friends!

Love and light to you all!

LadyG😘

Open Your Wings!

Butterfly for post on 2-21-2016

Something opens our wings.

Something makes boredom and hurt disappear.

Someone fills the cup in front of us:

We taste only sacredness.

-Rumi

Hi! My name is Gwin and I am a writer, storyteller and photographer! There, I said it!

Yes, I am fully aware that this is a strong declaration.  My friends, it HAS to be! Why? Because I have concluded that I don’t need anyone to tell me what I already know about myself! I am the one who defines who I am.

Do I sound radical?  Well… er…um…for the sake of clarity let me rewind this story!

Right before my last birthday, I began to think about becoming a ‘writer,’ but I immediately dismissed that thought.  Then, out of nowhere, I heard my inner voice say: “Gwin, what in the hell are you thinking?  If you are a writer then write! If you are a storyteller then tell stories!  If you are a photographer then take pictures! You don’t have to submit your stuff to anybody! You don’t need a formal title; you just need to go about the business of doing the damn thing! Do it for you!”

Oh yeah, me and I had a good long talk!

Anyway, during this conversation with myself, I realized that I had spent WAY too much time being afraid.  You see, I had always dreamed of becoming a writer/storyteller/photographer, but I never seriously pursued doing those things because I was worried that my work wouldn’t be accepted.  In my mind’s eye, I could just see all of my writings and pictures being thrown back at me in big golden envelopes –stamped with the word “REJECTION”—capitalized in bold red; and that, my friends, spooked the hell out of me!

Well now I’m over it! So I started a blog where I can post whatever I want! And you, my loves, are acting as witnesses to my dreams!  I thank you so much for that!

OK, that’s enough about me and my wings! What about yours? Tell me what ‘opens your wings?’
