Greens From Daddy’s Patio: Probably NOT Spinach (Week 17-ish)

This is probably NOT Spinach!

LadyG here with a quick update on what’s been happening with the greens on Daddy’s Patio!

Daddy says that the plants that I have been calling spinach are probably NOT spinach; at least not the kind of spinach that he is familiar with.

There is also some question about the basil plant that we purchased as a start.

That said, the basil plant that we are growing from seed is definitely basil! Any advice? What do you think?

Check out the video for details!

Greens From Daddy’s Patio: Daddy Over My Shoulder (Week 9)

Even though I’m getting more and more comfortable with gardening, Daddy is always watching over my shoulder.

Whenever I’m working with the plants, he usually says something like…

“Add a little bit of this!”

“Add a little more of that!”

OR

“Not too much!

“That’s enough!”

“Put it over there.”

“Move it over here.”

“You don’t need to do that.”

“Look here bae, do it like this.”

And when I get it just right, he reassures me with a super sweet …

“There ya go!”

I’ve lived my entire life anticipating those words when I’m in the midst of learning new things from Daddy.

If you listen VERY CLOSELY, you can hear him say that to me in previous videos 🙂

Anyway, today, I made more room for my spinach by replanting my rosemary and basil.

Best believe Daddy’s right there watching every step.

Enjoy the video and note that the voice-over near the end is not necessarily synced with the plants that are shown at the time.

Happy Summer From Daddy’s Garden

Garden Title shot-5
My Dad’s Garden in Alabama.  Summer 2017.

Would you just look at those collard greens and ‘maters!

Just look at ’em!

I don’t know about you, but fresh produce is a MUST in my life!

That said, doesn’t this inspire you to want to go plant a garden?

It inspired me!

But there’s a problem…

Lady G ain’t ’bout to go digging ’round in the Lord’s ground…

What with snakes, and worms and any manner of creeping thing that creepeth!

I simply cannot!

But….

I can see myself working with planters and raised garden beds.

And so…

My daughter, Lady J, and I have decided to recruit my Dad to teach us how to grow veggies and herbs using the aforementioned.

So let it be written, so let it be done!

The Ladies have spoken!

LOL!!!!

Oh, by the way, excuse my manners!  It’s been awhile and I haven’t had time to drop by and wish you guys a happy summer!

So…

Happy Summer my loves!

I will certainly keep you posted on the progress of our garden project.

Until then…

Enjoy these pics!

Leave me a comment or just say hello!
