I Went Home Today!

Ok, so I didn’t go home today.

I actually went home yesterday, but somehow “I went home yesterday,” as a title, didn’t quite have the same ring to it.

LOL!

And so…

Yesterday, I went to my hometown of Augusta, GA.

Yep! Home of The Godfather of Soul…James Brown.

Not to mention the Master’s Golf Tournament.

And yours truly, LadyG.

Anyway, the purpose of my visit was to see one of my best friends and sister, Gloria and her son Zoser.

Together, Gloria and I are the Ladies G!

LOL!!

At any rate, Gloria and Zoser, who happens to be on his way to bonafide celebrity-dom due to his burgeoning singing career, flew home from Seattle to Augusta for the holidays.

Naturally, I could not allow them to fly back into the Northwestern sunset without us getting together.

So…

Me, Lady J and Rod rolled over to Augusta for the day and had a BALL!

I’m sure if you asked those two they’d tell you how “interesting” it was to hear their mom chatter on and on about her old Homecoming Queen highschool glory days:

“Mama was the Homecoming queen and a Varsity Cheerleader for 4 years…and….”

“We know, Mom…you were blah, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada…”

They had heard it all before!

—No less than 10 zillion times.

Sorry friends, I have truly digressed!

Never mind that, please enjoy the following pictures from a hometown visit with some of my favorite people.

Love and Light, Lady G 😘💋💋

In Loving Memory of Christopher, my baby brother.

I’m Digging this Kid!

If LadyG wanted to brag, she would say something like:

“EVERYBODY LOOK!  MY GOD SON, ZO, IS OPENING FOR ALLEN STONE!”

LOL!

Since I am NOT a bragger, I shall resist the temptation…

But I will say this, if you are anywhere near my hometown of Augusta, GA tonight, you need to run down to the Imperial Theatre by 7pm to check them both out!

You will NOT be disappointed!

YAAAAY GO ZO!!!!!

I Sing and Dance!

My Son:  “Mom…please…please…please…you gotta stop…you’re embarrassing us!”

Me:  “I don’t care what these people think about me…I gotta get my happy however I can!”

I can’t tell you how many times my son and daughter have decidedly hidden from me in the midst of grocery shopping.

They simply CANNOT  with me and my impromptu performances!

That said, I must come clean and confess that I am that lady who dances and sings up and down every aisle at Publix…and sometimes Kroger.

Supermarket sound systems…I love ’em!

Yep! That was me you saw twirling past the tomatoes and rocking by the waffles.

And you know what?

I DON’T give a hoot!

I’m gonna sing and dance until I die!

Why?

You see, it all started long ago…

I always wanted to be a ballerina or perform modern dance.

Alas…there were no funds for such!

To put it bluntly, Mama and Daddy didn’t have the money for lessons.

Further, they lacked any appreciation for that realm of the arts.

And so…

I made believe and danced my little dance…

And I did it everywhere…

All the time!

Dancing and singing all the way through life.

Even into motherhood…much to the chagrin of my children!

Oh, but not to worry, they’ve grown accustomed.

They’ve learned to let me be.

Because if they try to shut me up I’ll only sing louder and dance harder!

And there…right there in the produce section… I find happiness with two of my favorite people!

🙂 🙂 🙂

I danced with both of my babies at home and all over the stores to this song!

Still dancing to this one!

I play this whenever I’m about to take a flight!  Go Rod!

For my son!  I wish him a safe flight into the sunset— headed to Seattle and Portland!

I love you man!  Have a blast! See ya when you get back home 💋

Me-7-18-2

Love and light to you all!

Enjoy your week!

Dreams Made Manifest

Glo and Terry McMillan
Gloria with author Terry McMillan at a book signing in Seattle

They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.  -Edgar Allan Poe

Dream, dream, dream!  Never underestimate the power of your dreams! Dreams can take you to places that are elusive to your rational mind.

How do I know?  Because I have made many dreams come true. In my mind, there is no way for you to attain an ideal life without first traveling through your dreams and imagination.  Please trust and believe that God gifted you with these abilities for a reason.

As you might have guessed, I like to surround myself with folks who are, in this way, like-minded.

With that said, I give you one of my oldest and dearest friends Gloria.  Gloria is a dreamer!  Sometimes she dreams alone and sometimes we dream together, and, as a result, she recently acquired her dream job in her dream city and she is now living her dream life.

Notice how I keep repeating the word ‘dream’?  It’s intentional 🙂

Friends, do understand that preparation is of the utmost importance.  But remember, once you are sufficiently prepared, you must allow yourself to indulge your imagination.  If you do this, you will experience a lovely life that unfolds with ease and grace.

And now, I leave you with the following quote:

People who lean on logic and philosophy and rational exposition end by starving the best part of the mind.  -William Butler Yeats

My friends, let us commence!
